The Bible, which is God’s word, has solutions for everyday living. Anytime Christians want divine wisdom to deal with various situations, they go to the word of God. The Bible can help us today because it is God’s plan for us to live the abundant life Christ came to give us.
Biblica gives a good summary of the Bible. “From the pages of the Bible, we read about our role in God’s design and kingdom, and how our lives are touched with purpose and meaning. And in the end there is more than a gloomy extinction at the conclusion of a hectic life, but a great reunion where I plan to meet Jesus face to face.”
The Bible is relevant to us today because God is unchanging. He is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore.

Live a righteous life
God expects us to live a righteous life. This is only possible when we know His ways and will in every given situation. He gave us the Bible to show us how He wants us to live life, to avoid opening the door to the enemy. If we are to live lives that please God, we are to obey His word.
How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word.

It is possible to live according to God’s principles today. When you allow the Holy Spirit to make the Bible alive in your life today, He will help you stay away from worldly pleasures. The world has a lot to offer and it is only by knowing God’s word that you can discern what is good for you.
And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.

Overcome the storms of life
When life gets tough, it’s normal to panic and imagine the worst-case scenario. Fear checks in and one’s thinking is clouded and hampered by “what if” thoughts. God’s word comes to the rescue in such situations because it shows the great power of God. He is your deliverer and promises to never leave you.
The Bible contains God’s promises of deliverance that you can stand on until the storm passes. His word also gives you hope as you wait for Him to give you a breakthrough. When Jesus and His disciples were caught in a storm, He rebuked the storm and it ceased.
When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm.
Mark 4:39
Jesus spoke to the storm, and when we speak God’s word into our storms, they cease. In the Bible, He has given us the words we need to speak to our troubling circumstances.
Renew your mind
We have grown up believing in the lies of the world about who we are and how we should live. The world has dictated what is acceptable or not and expects people to align with it so as to fit in. The result of this has been the wrong beliefs that many Christians carry even after being born again. It is only reading the Bible and knowing the truth that can renew your mind.
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

Deliver us from the wicked plans of the enemy
There is an enemy that does not want to see the believers of Jesus Christ prosper. He unleashes his plans and schemes on them to stop them from fulfilling God’s purpose for their lives. Jesus prayed for His disciples before He was crucified, that God would protect them from the evil one. He knew the troubles the enemy would bring their way would destroy them.
Jesus has given us power over the enemy who wants to destroy our lives. He has given us promises that we can declare when the enemy attacks, and even before he does. As our Savior, he has given us the authority to defeat the devil in our lives. This authority is found in His word.
Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you.

God has given us His word which we use to rebuke the devil and his wicked plans over our lives. The Bible shows us the power of God to deliver us from the enemy and live a victorious life.
How can the Bible help us today?
The Bible guides our every thought and step. It transforms and equips us to have a great impact for the kingdom of God on earth. The only way we can live out the Bible is by knowing it. Heather Riggleman says that to apply the Bible, we must know it. That we listen to it, read it, and meditate on Scripture day and night.
The word of God is living and active and it shows us if what we are doing is of God or not.
For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
Hebrews 4:12
The Bible helps us today by giving us a blueprint of the Christian life.
